Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus
Ludwig Wittgenstein
Wittgenstein builds a picture theory in which propositions model states of affairs, then concludes that most philosophical problems are nonsense produced by misusing language. It first appeared in German in 1921, in issue fourteen of Wilhelm Ostwald's Annalen der Naturphilosophie, and in English in 1922 with the Latin title G. E. Moore suggested.
Why you should read this
Written as a series of numbered propositions, this was the only philosophy book Wittgenstein published in his lifetime, and it became a touchstone for logical positivism despite his later rejection of much of it.
